    Main responsibilities

    Qualifications and Personal Skills we are looking for

    • In-depth knowledge of one of Norwegian Red Cross priority areas in Afghanistan: Primary and emergency health programs and/or medical logistics.

    We are now seeking a Country Manager for Honduras and el Salvador to be based in Tegucigalpa.

    The Country Manager is the overall responsible for Norwegian Red Cross supported programmes in the countries. He/she represents the organization vis-à-vis the Honduras and El Salvador Red Cross Societies, The ICRC, The IFRC, other Partner Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies working in the country, the Norwegian Embassy and international donors and organizations present in the country.
    The portfolio includes Urban Violence, Protection Health, and Organizational Development. The Country Manager reports to the America Regional Representative based at the NorCross regional office in Panama City, Panama.

    Main responsibilities:

    -Cooperate closely with the Honduras and El Salvador Red Cross, ensuring common understanding of goals, priorities and programs. Provide guidance and support on needs analysis, programme development, quality assurance and management.

    -Manage the programme portfolio, ensure that project planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting is carried out in a timely and appropriate fashion in accordance

    -Ensure proper Implementation of the NORAD, Telethon, MFA and UE projects and develop new project proposals in accordance with strategic plans, reaching 100% execution rate.

    -Contribute to efficient communication and coordination with the rest of the NorCross team in the region

    -Liaise with the ICRC in the country (where relevant) and contribute to the compliance of the NorCross- Telethon/MFA-ICRC tripartite agreement.

    -Monitor the mutual compliance of the Partnership Agreements between NorCross and HNS, including adequate reporting.

    -Provide guidance and support to the HNS on programme development, quality assurance, management and admin/finance.

    -Monitor and provide analysis of political, socio-economic and humanitarian trends

    -Strategic responsibility in-country: Ensure that activities are based on country plans which are consistent with Americas Framework Document and that work plans comprising donor requirements are used monthly and revised mid-year.

    -Cooperation design: Ensure that all NorCross cooperation is in line with HNS priorities and consistent with NorCross strategies and common results framework. Position NorCross to formulate and lead EU-funded projects responding to unmet needs in Honduras and El Salvador in accordance with the Americas team’s EU concept note.

    -Program follow up: Ensure that all new MFA funded projects are approved; count on baseline surveys and that monitoring and reports are based on tracking progress towards humanitarian outcomes.

    -Technical support: Provide risk management support to Red Cross activities in Honduras and in other regional risk management interventions developed in coordination with NorCross.

    -HCiD: Ensure that SRC and HRC have designed plans and implemented measures articulating its auxiliary role in improving access to health services in insecure environments with their respective Ministry of Health during 2015-16.

    -FD: Ensure that Financial Development initiatives in El Salvador and Honduras are developed in conjunction with the Regional Finance Advisor.

    -NS Relations: Maintain a fluent, transparent and coherent dialogue with partner NS at all levels

    Qualifications and Experiences we are looking for:

    -Relevant post-secondary degree in health in emergencies, primary health care or protection. Extensive and relevant field experience can compensate for the lack of a relevant university degree

    -Excellent level of Spanish and English, oral and writing

    -Minimum 5 years' field experience from humanitarian work, in a relevant field

    -Excellent understating of the socio-political situation in the Honduras and el Salvador and the region

    -Proven experience in urban violence programs

    Recruitment Qualifications:

    Education:
    Bachelor’s Degree with additional 2 years of experience in information technology, information systems, information management, web development, database, GIS or other relevant field.

    Experience:
    3 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in information management, database management, Mapping and web development.
    Former working experience on the Syria crisis and humanitarian assistance to Syria or work experience with a UN agency or NGO providing assistance to Syria is required.

    Language Requirements:

    • Fluency in English is essential

    Project Summary:

    Basmeh and Zeitooneh and Make Music Matter is looking for 1 music producer for its project “Healing in Harmony.” Working in tandem with a trained psychologist and music producer, participants write, record and professionally produce songs about their emotions and experiences. The process has a profound effect on both psychological healing and the restoration of a supportive, healing community. Our artists are advocates, publically disseminating their music through local radio broadcasts, social media, community concert, and CD distribution, reducing stigma.

    Tasks:

    • To work with the client artists, help to shape their ideas into melodies, words into cogent lyrics and record their performances in order to create a full production and completed song(s) out of each viable idea at each production stage for all applicable music styles: writing, recording, production, mixing and mastering.
    • The ability to organize and help to maintain a growing and ongoing library of songs at various stages of production by numerous artists with the help and guidance of Make Music Matter’s data manager.
    • The candidate will categorize them by MMM’s protocol on an external hard drive and cloud storage system with translated lyrics and any applicable photos.
    • After each 3-month programming cycle, the candidate will work with a Make Music Matter representative/lead producer to select 10 songs per cycle that will receive extra production services from external partners of Make Music Matter.
    • The candidate will then maintain these selected songs with the intact ISRC Code (International Standard Recording Code, to be supplied and embedded by Make Music Matter’s external partners) in a separate library and prepared for dissemination.
    • In this instance, dissemination will include but not be limited to: preparation of mp3’s and CDs for radio broadcast, streaming opportunities and the participation of community outreach performances.

    Required Experience:

    • To demonstrate musical ability and be someone who can empathetically work with a wide variety of artists at various skill levels in order to obtain their best performance.
    • Must be able to work diligently and proficiently in a high-pressure environment as both a songwriter and track writer using programmed instruments under the guidance and curated mentorship of the lead producer.
    • Must be able to demonstrate rudimentary ability on piano or keyboards with an understanding of basic chord progressions and possess a strong desire to work with local artists in track building either in Logic Audio, Cubase SX or Pro Tools.
    • It is preferable that the client has spent time in a creative recording environment or demonstrate the ability to work well under the musical/training guidance of the lead producer.
    • Experience in performing in or observing choirs is a bonus, but not a necessity although at a minimum the candidate must be receptive to the possibility of teaching/demonstrating a melody acapella to large groups.

    Tasks:

    • Conduct therapeutic sessions with participants employing psychosocial and music therapy techniques
    • Participants include survivors of sexual violence in various stages of recovery, trauma survivors from conflict other vulnerable populations
    • Manage and guide participant’s artist repertoire along with local producer
    • Identify, organize and integrate results of psychological, medical, family, economic and social history of patients/participants in order to guide their recovery
    • Conduct and organize spiritual, cultural (interests and abilities) of patients/participants in order to guide their recovery
    • Identify already established coping skills of the patient/participant in order to guide their recovery
    • Organize two Workshops held with 30 participants to assess their needs and the appropriate application of music therapy
    • Organize radio broadcasts, community performances & advocacy events for testing
    • Test the dissemination of music and the associated messaging in communities through various channels (radio, music get-togethers & community concert) for various stakeholders
    • Document/disseminate findings of the testing phase
    • Identification and admission of participants
    • Organize group sessions for 75 participants in community aftercare
    • Ongoing participant monitoring conducted through the community center/questionnaires
    • Prepare participant surveys and questionnaires
    • Conduct community surveys and questionnaires
    • Ongoing monitoring of additional data/case studies
    • Publish studies and presentations
    • Organize exchanges with other practitioners

    • Successful and continual integration of the monitoring and evaluation results from Emotional adjustment/stability and social functioning of participants including but not limited to: improvement of quality of life, anxiety and mood disorders such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression

    Required Experience:

    • Min of 2 years experience as a practicing therapist or social psychologist
    • Empathetic and sensitive to groups with of varying background and experiences

    • Affinity for music

    • Affinity for popular culture

    • Ability to effectively establish a rapport with participants from different backgrounds and circumstances

    • Ability to deliver information to participants in simple language that will resonate

    • Ability to establish an environment of trust and open conversation

    Organization brief:

    Basmeh & Zeitooneh is a registered Syrian Civil Society Organization in Turkey, works in Development and Relief domain where it has established an office in Gaziantep in 2014 and was officially registered in 2015.

    Basmeh & Zeitooneh was launched in Lebanon September 2012 by a group of volunteers with field visits to areas with high concentrations of the most marginalized and neediest Syrian refugees, the main goal of their visits was to assess the needs and to fill the gaps left by other aid agencies. The organization was officially registered as an NGO in Lebanon in 2014.

    Job Summary:

    The Country Director is responsible for the overall management and development of Basmeh & Zeitooneh's "B&Z" country program in Turkey.

    Reports to: Head of Operations

    Role and Responsibilities

    ● Proactively develop Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s country strategy in Turkey in cooperation with Senior Management.
    ● Implement, manages and leads the implementation of Turkey’s country strategy.
    ● Represents Basmeh & Zeitooneh in meetings and conferences with donors, INGO’s, NGO's, local partners and governmental authorities.
    ● Responsible for overseeing the management of human resources in Turkey.
    ● Liaises with Senior Management and Field Staff, and ensures the availability of the resources, skills, and tools to ensure the achievement of all program objectives and the organization’s mission.
    ● Ensures the financial feasibility of all Turkey’s programs; ensures all programs are within budget and that funds are managed in a highly transparent manner.
    ● Collaborates with the Development and Finance departments to produce Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s annual financial and narrative reports detailing the organization’s activities in Turkey.
    ● Ensures the proper handover of new programs/projects from the development department to the country’s operational staff.
    ● Supervises Turkey staff in implementing projects and all technical and operational aspects of the projects.
    ● Organizes and accompanies partners and potential donors in field visits that promote Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s work in Turkey.
    ● Provides regular updates to Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s CEO and Head of Operations regarding operational developments in Turkey.
    ● Initiate relationships with donors interested in funding projects in Turkey in coordination with the Senior Management.
    ● Provide program reports and regular situation reports that are timely, meet information requirements and professionally written as needed by B&Z and as required by donors
    ● Evaluate and monitor all country programs to determine the extent to which they are meeting goals and determine action needed to improve achievements
    ● Ensure all programs are completed within time, on budget and achieve its objectives

    ● Keep regular communication with donors regarding the operational updates of the ongoing projects.

    ● Ensure the continued safety of all personnel and establish and implement emergency security evacuation plans as appropriate.

    ● Ensure security guidelines are up to date and fully implemented.

    ● Regularly report to Senior Management regarding safety and security.

    Qualifications:

    ● A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, International Relations, International Development, Economics or any other related discipline

    ● Minimum of 4 years of experience in management within the nonprofit sector.

    ● Thorough understanding of humanitarian issues, strategies and of non-governmental organizations.
